Yanming Zhu, MD, PhD

Yanming joined the Brain Modulation Lab as a PhD student in 2021 in the Harvard Program for Speech and Hearing Bioscience and Technology (SHBT), and continued as a Harvard Research Fellow upon graduating in 2025. He completed his MD at Fudan University, Shanghai, China. In the Brain Modulation Lab, Yanming is involved in multiple projects, including STN auditory encoding, olfactory processing, neural device translation, and more. Yanming's long-term research goals include using state-of-the-art electrophysiology and machine learning, combined with advanced brain implants, to understand brain function and gain insights into next-generation therapeutics. He is working towards becoming an academic neurosurgeon in clinical and research fields, device development, and education.
