Review article published in Neuromodulation: Biophysical Principles and Computational Modeling of Deep Brain Stimulation

Computational models are important in silico tools for elucidating these underlying principles and potentially for personalizing Deep Brain Stimulation therapy to individual patients. The basic principles underlying neurostimulation computational models, however, are not well known in the clinical neuromodulation community. The Brain Modulation Lab publishes a review on the derivation of computational models of Deep Brain Stimulation and outline the biophysical contributions of electrodes, stimulation parameters, and tissue substrates to the effects of Deep Brain Stimulation.
