Alan Bush receives the 2026 Jane and Robert Burke Transformative Scholar Award

Co-Director Alan Bush received the 2026 Jane and Robert Burke Transformative Scholar Award in Parkinson’s Disease from the Mass General Brigham Neuroscience Institute. The award recognizes his work developing stimulation-evoked biomarkers that make deep brain stimulation surgery more precise and guide individualized programming. This line of research aims to identify, from the physiological signals recorded during and after surgery, the sites and settings most likely to relieve symptoms, moving DBS toward data-driven, patient-specific care. As Co-Director of the Brain Modulation Lab, Dr. Bush continues to translate these markers into tools that can improve outcomes for people living with Parkinson’s disease.
